Red and blue potatoes

December 20, 2011

As if we don’t have enough potatoes to eat, our local veg shop, Annies, had red and blue potatoes in  – well this was another unmissable opportunity. I kid you not, they are truly red and blue, and, what’s more, they retain most of the colour when you cook them.

I made potato salad which was a bit odd looking (hence no photo of the final dish) – gave me the feeling that it shouldn’t really be eaten – rather like you might feel if one of those red with white spots on  mushrooms that gnomes always sit on in stories was plonked on your plate and your host encouraged you to dig in. Oh well. It tasted ok though.

Happy Hanukkah.
