Sunday – simple sandwiches

January 22, 2012

On Sundays we buck the trend.  No elaborate Sunday roast for us, filling the kitchen with comforting, mouthwatering smells, the just reward for a morning’s toil.  No time wasted waiting for the meat and two veg to be ready and no time spent eating it either. We eat sandwiches.  Usually alfresco, usually on location, usually simple – good for this week’s weekly photo challenge

Today was no different. Alfresco, in the garden, simple sandwiches: toasted cheese and tomato ketchup for Arlo, peanut butter and jam for the beloved, cheese and chutney for me (not pictured – I ate my sandwiches while setting the scene for the photo, much to the annoyance of the boys who had to wait) with a stick of carrot and a glass of orange juice on the side.

Very simple…especially compared to an elaborate Sunday dinner. Nice interpretation.
