Fried egg on toast with lots of ketchup

March 3, 2012

Beautiful sunny morning somewhat marred by my still feeling rough and the lack of decent coffee beans in this house. Thankfully, the beloved remedied the coffee lack (but not until after I’d used Morrison’s own brand which distressingly is in a really awful lurid green packet – it’s fair trade, but that’s about all it has to recommend it.)

Jess popped by with flowers (appropriately called cheerfulness) and a multi vitamin sachet that I can add water to and drink for instant rejuvenation. I can’t have been looking my best as she told me to go to bed – she even lent me a book of short stories to read and said that it was possible to read in bed and that children leave you alone. No need. Once the energizing vitamins kick in I’ll be a new woman. (Thank you Jess.)

It’s comforting to know that left to his own devices Arlo won’t starve. He made himself a toasted cheese and ketchup sandwich and followed this with a fried egg and tomato ketchup on toast (on a see through plate which makes the photo a little odd) which he ate outside in the sunshine. The only danger is that he’ll run out of ketchup (“Vitamin C, mum”).
