Peaches and Cauliflower – not a weird food combo.

March 9, 2012

The cold that I’ve had for over a week is still stubbornly refusing to go away – in fact today I feel worse again. The beloved, sick of my moaning and sniffing,  has decided to take things in hand. He went to the market today and returned with lots of oranges (almost a glut, but not quite)  and green vegetables. Hurrah! No more root vegetables for a while. I’ve been toying with the idea that my cold is the result of my body being unable to process root vegetables and keep winter germs away at the same time. Tenuous I know.

So this evening the beloved cooked.  Cauliflower, broccoli, lentils and spinach, fried egg,  beanburger and a pile of leftover stuff that didn’t include celeriac or parsnip, and orange juice. Lovely. No photo of the food though because it was too dark . I did some drawing instead. The cauliflower came with lots of lovely green leaves which the beloved gave to Peaches who fell on it like a rabbit deprived. She too has had enough of root vegetables it seems. Spring must be here.
