Weekly photo challenge: hands

May 18, 2012

Logan came home for tea after school today. He and Arlo “shot some hoops”  in the garden and then bounced on the trampoline and then headed in for dinner. Their hands were filthy as they sat down about to tear the pizza apart. I dispatched them to the sink. I’m not one to miss a photo opportunity so after they’d washed their hands I took a picture for this week’s photo challenge. Logan was mystified. “She’s going to immortalise your hands on her blog,” said Arlo  by way of explanation (which didn’t really explain it at all judging from the look on Logan’s face).

I like hands, but it’s not often I take photos of them – especially children’s hands.  I look at them  often – mainly to check they’re clean or that the nails don’t need cutting. They look so young in this photo. Perhaps I need to make more of an effort.

Logan and Arlo headed off to Judo with the beloved and Sarah (she of the lovely shop) and I walked along the wooded cycle path to Jane Cabrera’s 40th book launch. We got the better deal – nice walk, good company, fizzy wine, delicious carrot cake  – with walnuts in, as well as other delicacies. And I bought a lovely book (Fetch) for Liz and Al’s children and got it signed. And it didn’t rain on us as we walked home!
