Almost letting the pictures tell the story…

May 27, 2012

Last night it poured with rain and this morning the sky looked grey, but it wasn’t raining. The beloved said “At least we know it’s rained so we aren’t waiting for it in anticipation. It’ll be fine after one o’clock.” The rest of the country was bathed in sunshine, but our bit of birthday Devon seemed to be following tradition. But we are made of sterner stuff and I packed egg sandwiches anyway.

The sky cleared. We went off to the beach. It was sunny!

And then the mist rolled in…We could hardly see a thing and did we imagine we heard panic in the voices of the lifeguards who were telling people to get out of the water? Halo, Rella and Arlo disappeared – literally.

Then almost as quickly as the mist came, it left again.  The sky cleared, you could see the sea so Arlo went for a quick swim. But it was a bit cold. We headed home.
Gradually, the grey sky turned to blue.

So we had birthday tea outside in hot sunshine. That’s the spell broken. A birthday with no rain (during the day at least).
Happy Birthday Rella!
