Arlo’s birthday has been sunny. Sometimes even hot!

Halo arrived early from Southampton, having left at the crack of dawn, and we went to see the year 6 leavers’ play at school. Lots of talented kids acting and singing beautifully – shame about the really crap play.

As the afternoon sun beat down on the soggy ground, Frank beat Peter at tennis – less said the better I think.

Birthday tea was pizza, French bread, ice cream, jelly, crisps, strawberries and mixed bean salad with fresh basil and tomatoes. And a birthday cake with Gnasher on it done at the very last minute. Summer food , summer weather.

After birthday tea we introduced Frank and Peter to Pit. This can be a bit of a noisy game, especially in our house. I think they were OK with it. Arlo’s shattered now, but still hanging on. School tomorrow and we are on the home straight. Only three more days till the summer holidays…

Happy Birthday Arlo!
