As we left the Balti King (very nice meal including Vegetable dopiaza, vegetable jalfrezi and a rather delicious hot prawn thing I can’t remember the name of washed down with Tiger beer) it was  raining, but the weather has held for most of the day.  Not gloriously hot – that’s asking too much, but pleasingly warm with the occasional burst of sunshine.

This morning lots of people came round and we had lots of cake and tea and coffee in the garden and I’ve got lots of lovely presents.

Thanks everyone for coming and for my presents; thanks especially to the beloved who’s been the tea boy and washer and tidier up for most of the day. I’ve had a good birthday – and there’s still some cake left!

Now I’m going to watch the remains of the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games – what are we going to watch late in the evening now that the Last Leg’s over??
