weekly photo challenge:solitary

September 22, 2012

Been too busy tidying to blog. Well, tidying and trying to find plain black cotton socks for Arlo to wear to his freshly uniformed school on Monday. Socks are the least of the problem though, because the cotton shirts and jumpers aren’t ready anyway.   I’m not quite sure what he’s going to wear.

This means I am not at one with the world – maybe I need to go on a retreat as Boo has just done. A little bit of solitary confinement might do the trick.

No matter; as I have mentioned before, the beloved is growing Dorset Naga chillies and they are among the hottest chillies in the world. Ours are ripening now and I’m not sure what to do with them. I picked one this morning thinking that I would try a smidgeon, but I was too cowardly and I was taken up with doing other things (see above). The jalapenos are almost  too hot to bear and burn my hands if I get the juice on them, but they have a distinctive flavour. What the Naga’s like I can’t imagine.

So this pretty little solitary chilli is sitting on a pretty blue plate in the kitchen daring someone to take a bite – or waiting until I think of something to add it to. I could paint it I suppose.

I wonder how long it will last?
