relative calm

October 29, 2012

The house is tidy-ish, the grandparents are ensconced in the red room in front of a blazing fire (Poppa’s in charge of it),  Arlo has eaten enough fudge to rot several teeth (we made some more today because the last lot went so quickly) the Beloved’s off visiting Grannie and Rella’s retired exhausted.

It’s just me and the computer. I’ve looked up Simon Armitage’s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight which Jeaniegran is annoyed she didn’t bring with her and I think we may be able to find a copy locally.

So now I’d better do my blog before I’m missed.  Here’s a picture of one of Paul’s apples which I should be painting. I have almost finished but there are a few tweaks that need to be done.

The apple variety is unknown: it looks Cox like but the taste and texture (rather disappointingly) are very like a Charles Ross, but tarter. I cut one in half to look at the pips and how they are positioned. “Interesting placentation” said the Beloved.
