deleted moomins

November 8, 2012

Boo bought me a Moomin biscuit cutter (which is a wonderful thing) and we made some dancing Moomin shortbread biscuits (3oz sugar, 6oz butter, 9oz plain flour mixed together and rolled out) – our President Obama celebratory baking.

They tasted delicious in the way a shortbread biscuit should. They also looked good – especially pleasing  before they were baked – the biscuits and their flour dappled silhouettes making  shapes reminiscent of early Disney. And I did have a photograph, but I think I accidentally deleted it.

It’s been that kind of a day.

So here’s a photo of Arlo and Halo playing their clarinets over half term holiday. Arlo’s clarinet teacher would be very pleased to see this picture, though she’d be less impressed by the amount of playing he’s done since the picture was taken last week…

Yay for shortbread, President Obama & clarinets too! My dad played for us some when we were growing up. I love their beautiful sound.
