a rabbit’s response to cold weather

November 29, 2012

This morning it was cold. Minus 3 according to the thermometer outside, but the sun was shining and the sky was blue. So I went for a walk before I started painting.

The field which has been a lake for the last few days is now a frozen marsh – looking very beautiful though.

I walked up to Dartington Hall gardens (doing my best to ignore the awful signs that make it look like a motorway service station – whose idea was that?) and back down the drive in glorious sunshine.

When I got home Peaches was stretched out with her feet on the Aga. It’s a rabbit’s life it seems.

I warmed up some carrot, parsnip and tomato soup I made the other day for my lunch and grated some Italian cheese we were brought as a gift into it. Delicious.
