weekly photo challenge: my 2012 in pictures

December 28, 2012

My year started with 56lbs of potatoes and looks as if it’s going to end with a different 56lbs of potatoes.

Along the way I’ve made potato icing for a Christmas cake (twice – moomins, and a nod in the direction of Lord of the Rings), found some blue potatoes, made cinnamon potato bread, put eyes on a particularly misshapen potato, dealt with a parsnip glut, made pikelets and bakestone cakes, dealt with a beetroot glut and a leek glut and a chilli glut, found ways to make celeriac edible ,  made chocolate bunnies, sold a painting, gone through a lot of weather, sat on a beach, made elderflower cordial, eaten fish and chips, celebrated summer with strawberries, pineapple and cake, and made an awful lot of cake. What with the potatoes and the cake, it’s a wonder we aren’t all really fat….
