after judo treat

March 1, 2013

We have two language students arriving tomorrow, so I spent a considerable amount of time today cleaning and tidying – though you wouldn’t really know it.  We have a serious stuff problem, but there’s always something better to do than tackle it – or there’s stuff that I feel we should probably use rather than throw away; however, Rella and I took a car load of stuff to the recycling centre so the house is a little less cluttered.chocolate-dip

In my tiding, which included the pantry (I emptied out several bottles of wine we made from our grape harvest a couple of years ago that I’ve been keeping on the grounds that it is crystal clear, but I’ve accepted the fact that it is undrinkable by any normal person) I discovered in a forgotten tin some unopened-and-still-within-their-sell-by-date sponge finger biscuits – the kind that you make tiramisu or trifle with.  I did think about making tiramisu, but it takes so long – and I needed a post judo treat for Arlo.

So I melted some chocolate and added a bit of cream and Arlo and I dipped sponge finger biscuits into it. It was very sweet, but nice. We couldn’t eat it all, so there’s a bit more left in the fridge for tomorrow.

Happy St David’s day.
