venturing northwards

April 5, 2013

Arlo and I are off to York tomorrow. Arlo’s rucksac is almost too heavy to lift and all he has in it are toys and the odd book – there may be a few Beanos lurking and some chocolate, but nothing else of import – like clothes – and most of it’s rammed in because he spent his free time playing with his cousins and then making a trebuchet – the two are not connected.trebuchet3

The trebuchet, which has to be finished before the Easter holidays are over, is part of the school’s year 7 Castle Project. It’s the third such project the beloved and I have been through, but this time the beloved’s enjoyed himself. The trebuchet has been designed and made from scratch and it works, but needs a little refining. It pitched a chick (not a real one) across the room with impressive force. Poppa would be proud.

While we’re away, we’re leaving  the beloved to refine the trebuchet and Peaches in the care of the beloved, Rella and Katrine.  Arlo’s a little anxious. I’m sure the rabbit will be well looked after.allegiance-changing

In fact that might be the problem. Rabbits are fickle and transfer their allegiances at the drop of a hat. Here’s photographic evidence.

Never mind, there’s always the hamster.

Our French Angora rabbit loves whoever is petting him at the moment. 🙂
