True colours…

It’s Katrine’s birthday and we went to Berry Pomeroy castle –  for a photo shoot it turned out. These jaunty angled creations are Arlo’s…






Then, when we returned home, there was just time to make birthday cake and cook up some black beans ( I don’t think you can celebrate a Brazilian’s birthday without beans -though we didn’t have any rice) with onion, garlic, courgette and sweet potato (good combination – nicer than it sounds).

These we  had with the birthday tea of chips with ketchup, egg mayonnaise salad and Grannie and Federico – guests rather than menu items.

The birthday cake had strawberries and cream –  there was rather more cream than cake, but it is a birthday.Katrine3

I knew she was too good to be true.
